FTCR celebrates its 50th anniversary: Interview with Fathi Ben Haj Yahia
crldht
A well-known figure in Tunisian literary circles and civil society, Fathi Ben Haj Yahia is one of us. In so many ways.
A former political prisoner, he has distanced himself from the party microcosm without ever breaking ties with democratic commitment. A man of ideas first and foremost, he is a founding member of one of today's leading associations in the Tunisian intellectual arena: "Nachaz-Dissonances".
As a writer, he stands out for his own style of writing, in which derision is used to tackle the most serious issues.
As a translator, Fathi Ben Haj Yahia has long camped on the in-between shores that make him so close to us. And for good reason: Fathi Ben Haj Yahia lived in France at two different times: before prison and after.
For the FTCR, he is one of those familiar figures who are so many landmarks in our fiftieth-century memory.
The meeting will be hosted by one of his closest friends, Hichem ABDESSAMAD, a former member of the FTCR, with the participation of his translator Hajer BOUDEN.
