FTCR celebrates its 50th anniversary: Interview with Fathi Ben Haj Yahia
A well-known figure in Tunisian literary circles and civil society, Fathi Ben Haj Yahia is one of us. In so many ways.
A former political prisoner, he has distanced himself from the party microcosm without ever breaking ties with democratic commitment. A man of ideas above all, he is a founding member of one of the most important associations in the Tunisian intellectual arena today: "Nachaz-Dissonances".A writer, he stands out for his own style of writing, in which derision is used to tackle the most serious issues.A translator, Fathi Ben Haj Yahia has long camped out on the in-between shores that make him so close to us. Fathi Ben Haj Yahia lived in France during two periods: before and after prison, and for the FTCR, he is one of those familiar figures who are so many landmarks in our fiftieth-century memory. The meeting will be hosted by one of his closest friends, Hichem ABDESSAMAD, a former member of the FTCR, with the participation of his translator Hajer BOUDEN.
